1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using the Wayfinder News mobile application (“the App”) or accessing the website at www.wayfindernews.com (“the Website”), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the App or Website.
These Terms apply to all users of the App and Website, regardless of location. Users in the United Kingdom, European Union, and Canada should also note the additional provisions relevant to their jurisdiction set out in these Terms.
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the “Last Updated” date above. Your continued use of the App following any update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
2. About the Wayfinder News App
Wayfinder News is a mobile news aggregator application designed to help users navigate news content more critically. The App provides users with access to curated news articles from third-party publishers, along with contextual information intended to support informed reading.
The App is available on iOS and Android and is operated by Wayfinder News. The App does not require account registration and does not collect direct personal identifiers such as names or email addresses.
3. Permitted Use
You may use the App and Website for personal, non-commercial purposes only, subject to these Terms. You agree not to:
Use the App for any unlawful purpose or in any way that violates applicable local, national, or international laws or regulations
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the App, its backend systems, or related infrastructure
Reverse engineer, decompile, or otherwise attempt to extract the source code of the App
Transmit any harmful, offensive, or disruptive content through any feature of the App
Use the App in a way that could damage, disable, or impair its functionality or interfere with other users
Reproduce, redistribute, or commercially exploit any content provided through the App without prior written consent
4. Third-Party Content and External Links
The App aggregates news content from third-party publishers and websites. When you select an article, you will be redirected to the publisher’s own website. Wayfinder News does not own, control, or endorse the content of any third-party website.
We are not responsible for the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any third-party content, nor for the privacy practices of any external website you visit. You access third-party content at your own risk and should review the relevant publisher’s terms and privacy policy.
5. Push Notifications
The App offers optional push notifications. You may choose to enable or disable push notifications at any time through your device settings or within the App settings. Push notifications are sent via a third-party provider using a device token that does not identify you personally.
By enabling push notifications, you consent to receiving news alerts and updates from Wayfinder News. You may withdraw this consent at any time without affecting your ability to use the App.
6. In-App Survey
The App may present an optional feedback survey after you have read several articles. Participation in the survey is entirely voluntary. You may dismiss the survey at any time.
Any responses you provide will be used solely to improve the App and its content. Survey responses may be linked to your device for analytical purposes. Please refer to our Privacy Notice for further information.
7. Intellectual Property
All intellectual property rights in the Wayfinder News App, including but not limited to its design, functionality, software, and branding, are owned by or licensed to Wayfinder News. Nothing in these Terms transfers any intellectual property rights to you.
Third-party news content displayed in the App remains the intellectual property of the respective publishers. Wayfinder News does not claim ownership of any third-party content.
You must not reproduce, copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from any content in the App without express written permission from the relevant rights holder.
8. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
8.1 Content Accuracy
Wayfinder News aggregates content from third-party sources and does not verify the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any news articles. Content provided through the App is for informational purposes only and should not be relied upon as professional advice of any kind.
8.2 Availability
We do not guarantee that the App or Website will always be available or free from errors, interruptions, or technical issues. We reserve the right to suspend, modify, or discontinue the App at any time without notice.
8.3 Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Wayfinder News shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the App or Website, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of revenue, or reputational harm.
9. Data Protection
Your use of the App involves the collection and processing of limited personal data. Our Privacy Notice explains in full what data we collect, why we collect it, and your rights in relation to it. Our Privacy Notice forms part of these Terms and by accepting these Terms you also acknowledge our Privacy Notice.

10. Jurisdiction-Specific Provisions
10.1 United Kingdom and European Union Users
If you are accessing the App from the UK or EU, these Terms are supplemented by our obligations under UK GDPR and EU GDPR. You have the rights set out in our Privacy Notice, including the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. Nothing in these Terms limits those rights.
10.2 Canadian Users
If you are accessing the App from Canada, your use is subject to PIPEDA and applicable provincial privacy legislation. You have the right to access and correct your personal information and to file a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
10.3 California and US State Residents
If you are a resident of California or another US state with applicable privacy legislation, you have the rights described in our Privacy Notice, including rights under CCPA/CPRA. Please refer to our Privacy Notice for details on how to exercise those rights.
11. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States. For users in the UK and EU, nothing in this clause affects your statutory rights under applicable consumer protection or data protection law in your country of residence.
